Newcastle Quayside app for iPhone and iPad

The Quayside has become a magical place. Regeneration is much overused word, but apt when applied to the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside. The Quayside preserved in celluloid footage of Get Carter, Our Friends in the North or even Auf Wiedersehen Pet, bears little resemblence to the Quayside of today.

There are miles of riverside footpaths to explore, bridges of great design and majesty, stairs leading to panoramic views, art works all along both sides of the river. There are information panels and beautiful buildings of all ages.

The Quayside has become a safe and beautiful place to walk, run and cycle, it is a place for people rather than traffic. Like an Italian Piazza it offers a space where people can meet and socialize.

The Quayside offers something different at dawn and dusk, in good weather and in bad, it offers unlimited photo opportunities and a history lesson for those that want it.
